Quick ideas redefined my relationships. Spontaneity created adventures I’ll never forget.

I live a life of exploration and curiosity — in 2020, this translated to a plethora of spontaneous adventures. Many of them pre-COVID, but many of them during COVID. There’s always an opportunity to push the boundaries.

I want to talk about three meaningful stories:

1) Bringing a stranger into my home, leaving with an amazing friend (and a passion for Niagara falls!)

2) Sharing milk on the Las Vegas Strip

3) Posters that inspire my passion for being alive

Bringing a stranger into my home, leaving with an amazing friend (and a passion for Niagara falls!)

In 2019, I started my job at The Knowledge Society (TKS), where I worked on improving our programs across North America. As I started virtually meeting students from our programs, a student from Las Vegas stood out to me: Gaby Floratos. I had an “I think we’d be best friends” instinct.

Forty-five minutes into our first call, I proposed an idea: if she flys out to Canada, she can stay with me for free. I was honestly surprised to hear her say yes.

A week after new years, she came up. I showed her all the Canadian ‘things’ like bagged milk and real maple syrup.
