7 Things I do for Sanity
A list of very specific anecdotes that bring peace, excitement or rhythm to my life.
Dishes, immediately, silently
In the last 2 years I have made it a point to not do quick chores with music or tv. It’s my time to put in my presentness reps.
Also, following the advice of “How to stop worrying and start living” I make a huge effort to do my dishes right away. So I’m never attacking a big pile.
I know what to do first
One of my favourite ways to start a morning is tackling something important off my todo list. The night before, I’ll set a goal.
Barrier to Coffee
I don’t own a coffee machine. Why? Because I never want my enjoyment of coffee to be a commodity.
Instead, I enjoy coffee fika-style with a friend or for hours on end working, reading or journalling.
Each coffee is part of an experience aligned with my social or mental well-being. And I preserve the beauty of the drink (with extra whipped cream).
A few minutes on Pinterest
Pinterest leaves me inspired. I have crafted that algorithm to be real nice. It gives me a minute to pause and think about good food, hosting people and well-designed interiors.
